In an advertorial published in the City Press on 22 November, the Head of Department of the Free State Department of Education, Advocate Tsoarelo Malakoane, says the key highlights of KST’s interventions in the province “are the transfer of effective teaching skills and an improvement in curriculum delivery methodologies, as well as fully resourced specialised classrooms that have directly resulted in improved pupil performance.

The Free State has been named one of the best performing provinces in South Africa, with Fezile Dabi the best performing district in the country last year. The district previously performed at between 58% and 63%.

The Free State Education MEC, Dr Tate Makgoe, added that the department’s partnership with KST had “delivered infrastructure in the most cost-effective way”.

“It has delivered projects three to four times cheaper than government can achieve. This is critical for us,” he said.
