Nov 23, 2020 | News, Programme updates

“The creation of shared value, in which financial benefit also produces social benefit, has to be a strategic imperative for all companies.” – Dr Tshepo Motsepe, chairperson of Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation.

Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation partner entity, Black Umbrellas, has incubated over 1 900 small businesses that have achieved R3.2 billion in collective turnover, contributed R260 million to tax revenue, and created and preserved almost 12 000 jobs.

Black Umbrellas now takes its offerings to a new level, of sustainability, ESD partner collaboration and digitisation, offering a virtual incubation (VI) platform that expands the reach of the programme. This all takes place under a refreshed brand identity.
