Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust (CRET) recently partnered with the Tomorrow’s Leaders in Training (TLT) Programme, to host virtual Gender Based Violence workshops. The workshops aimed to break the silence on GBV and discuss this important topic amongst young adults and spread awareness about GBV during #WomensMonth.

Here is what some of the CRET students who attended the workshop, had to say:

“I loved it. It was great! Finding out what people went through made me sad, but overall, I learnt that abuse and harassment are serious issues that are all around us, and that’s truly heartbreaking. I’m looking forward to our next session, thank you.” – Kabelo Moleke

“The session was amazing. It was actually therapeutic. Sharing our experiences made realise that I am not alone and shouting out for help and reaching out to other is actually important to emancipate one’s mind from the traumatic experiences we have encountered.” – Thando Msimango

“That was quite an interesting discussion we had, learning other people’s experiences was a lot. I never really thought I was abused when some of the mentioned incidents happened to me before until today’s discussion. Really grateful for this learning experience.” – Lufuno Leshaba
