In October the Motheo district held a certification ceremony at the KST Motheo district offices where 15 Community Care Givers (CCG) were recognised for facilitating the vision screening and referral process in 10 primary schools.

One of the CCGs expressed excitement at being part of the vision screening programme: “I had fun while learning about the eyes, and working with the children was life changing. It was rewarding to know one is working towards helping a child who couldn’t see properly. I am even considering being an optometrist.”
