Black Umbrellas’ new CEO, Mark Frankel, together with Rand Mutual Assurance CFO, Bilal Adam, unveiled the plaque and cut the ribbon to Black Umbrellas’ latest incubator at Bara Mall in Diepkloof, Soweto on 25 November.

Opened in partnership with Rand Mutual Assurance, this is Black Umbrellas ninth incubator.

A partner entity of Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, Black Umbrellas partners with the private sector, Government and civil society to address the low levels of entrepreneurship and high failure rate of 100% Black-owned emerging businesses. The programme nurtures businesses in the critical first three years of their existence, providing a structured and subsidised programme of access to expertise, office infrastructure and resources. Black Umbrellas works to ensure that access to markets too are in place to support the development of businesses.
