Grade 12 learners from KST-supported schools in the Motheo and Fezile Dabi districts in the Free State are being assisted with catch-up and revision sessions provided by KST mentors. Using a blended approach of physical and remote support, the mentors undertake revision of the syllabuses, co-teach, and conduct Saturday classes. Many schools have experienced teacher absenteeism due to educators with comorbidities having to safeguard themselves. The mentorship programme was a creative response to this and other challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
KST’s mentors are recruited on the basis of their qualifications, experience and recommendations from reputable educational organisations. If anyone is interested to be a mentor they should email their CVs to the KST district managers in the Fezile Dabi and Motheo districts via info@kst.org.za
