Among its final interventions in the lead-up to its close in the Free State, Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation partner entity, KST, has been innovative in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. It implemented a mentor support programme to assist secondary schools in the Fezile Dabi and Motheo districts to cover the school syllabus during a school year disrupted by the pandemic.

Fezile Dabi maintained its first position in the province while Motheo district ranked the highest accounting average percentage pass in the province. Fezile Dabi received the highest mathematics average percentage pass.

KST District Manager, Nathan Pillay, said KST availed accounting, economics, mathematics and physical science mentors to assist educators and Grade 12 learners to  save the academic year.

“Schools that had educators with comorbidities or absent educators, were also supported,” Pillay said
