Ms Yvonne Temba
Yvonne Themba was born in Soweto and raised in Swaziland. She obtained her Cambridge O Levels at Waterford Kamhlaba United World College in Swaziland in 1982 and graduated with a BA in Social Science (economics and accounts) from the University of Botswana in 1991. She also holds an MBA from Wits Business School which she obtained in 2002.
Ms Themba worked over a 13-year period, while studying, in Sun International’s casino industry. She started as a trainee dealer in 1983, became an inspector and eventually pit boss before moving into management.
Her work experience since 1996 has been mostly in the financial services sector.
She was previously responsible for Human Capital at Phembani Group and the Shanduka Group.
Ms Themba headed the group Corporate Communications Department at African Life Assurance Limited and the Corporate Social Investment and Corporate Communications Department at Sanlam. Prior to that she was Deputy Director of the Life Officers’ Association.
Ms Themba serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Pan African Resources Plc as well as the Boards of E Logistics Portal and Pfortner Solutions.
In 2021, she was appointed as the Chief People Officer at McDonald's.
