Mr Raj Govender
Raj Govender is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a postgraduate Diploma in Accounting as well as a BCom Accounting degree. He is the Director at Tactus Capital, a boutique M&A advisory firm. He joined the Board of Trustees of Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation in 2020. He has provided support to the Foundation and its partner entities Adopt-a-School Foundation, Black Umbrellas and the Mabindu Trust as a Trustee since 2003.
Mr Govender has over 17 years of experience in entire deal-making and investment management process, including business valuations, and deal negotiations.
Mr Govender joined the Shanduka Group in 2004, where he held several positions until 2013. Among his many roles at Shanduka Group, he was the Director of Shanduka Fund Managers and Partner in a Private Equity Fund, Shanduka Value Partners Fund a R300million PE fund from 2003 to 2013. He left Shanduka in 2013 to practice as a consultant in Investment Banking.
In 2015, Mr Govender joined Kagiso Tiso Holdings where he was the Director of Investments.
He has held several Directorships over the years, including at Macsteel Service Centres SA, Alexander Forbes Equity Holdings, Mondi Packaging SA, McDonalds SA and Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages.
He currently serves directorships at Sandvik Mining SA (Pty) Limited, and Kagiso Media (Pty) Limited.
