Congratulations to Gertrude Joalane Phirimana, a mathematics educator at Zamokuhle Junior Secondary School near Matatiele in the Eastern Cape, who won third place in the award for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics in the GET phase at the 20th National Teachers Awards in February. The awards ceremony was held at Soshanguve East Secondary School by the Department of Basic Education.
Zamokuhle Junior Secondary is part of the Adopt-a-School programme and is one of 30 schools supported by the Industrial Development Corporation.
